Writing Task- Narrative
PART 2: Your Writing Task
Your school is creating a collection of short stories about things that make America great. Since you have studied the United States Postal System recently, you decide to write about the early Postal system in the United States. To start, you completed some research about the history of the United States Postal System. During your research, you have found articles about our postal system.
Please prepare a story about being a US Postal Carrier. Write a story about one day of delivering mail. You may choose any historical time period from your sources for your story take place. When writing your story, find ways to use information and details from the sources to improve your story. Make sure you develop your character(s), the setting, and the plot, using details, dialogue, and description where appropriate
Also remember to check your spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

2. Organization – how well the events logically flow from beginning to end using effective transitions and how well you stay on topic throughout the essay.
3. Elaboration of narrative – how well you elaborate with details, dialogue, and description to advance the story or illustrate the experience
4. Language and Vocabulary – how well you effectively express experiences or events using sensory, concrete, and figurative language that is appropriate for your purpose
5. Conventions – how well you follow the rules of usage, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling.
